Pyramid Scheme have been longtime friends of the band, and after they missed the last Sound Canvas they decided to host their own gig at the local Cricket Club! They invited us, (which we were stoked about of course), and when we got there, we sound checked, and headed upstairs to the ‘greenroom’.

Ironically, it was probably the best backstage area we’d come across yet, kitted out with pizzas and a pool table (putting the ‘green’ in green room). We had a few matches, and Tuva went a whole game without sinking a ball, followed by a game where Indi sank the white ball four times in a row – maybe we should stick to music…

It was time to play. Everybody was on stage, plugged in, the crowd was hyped, ready to go, and Jimmy was in the bog. To his surprise, he emerged to a cheer from the crowd as he jogged on stage and clicked in for the first song to start. It was amazing! The crowd was so electric, it was genuinely the most fun we’ve ever had on stage. We played our newest originals; ‘The Way You Do It’, and ‘Lifesaver’, along with heaps of our most popular covers and ‘Are You Gonna Be My Girl’ by Jet as the closer! There was an encore (which we hadn’t anticipated), but we played ‘Hard Times’ as requested by the girls in the front row.

We made our way through the crowd to see our mates, and Pyramid Scheme gave us a Christmas present for the band! Some chocolates, which Indi is now using as an incentive to stay on task. It was such a blast, and I can’t wait to play with them again! An epic maiden voyage for the cricket club, and a brilliant closer for the year!
